Describing the downfall of Paterno as “clearly the most devastating thing to come out of the sex scandal,” outlets from ESPN to USA Today asked Sandusky’s victims if, while being forced to engage in oral and anal sex with a man 40 to 50 years their senior, their primary fear was for Paterno’s reputation—and, specifically, for how revelations of their suffering might diminish his two national championships, three Big Ten titles, and 24 bowl victories.
Stay classy, State College. Stay classy.
still-anobsession-deactivated20 asked: As a Penn State student I find what you said entirely offensive. We were supporting our coach, our legacy, and our reputation. Joe Paterno didn't touch the victims. He reported the crimes to the people he needed to, and it was them that did nothing about it. He's being a scapegoat for all of this and getting more shit than the guy who actually raped the kids are. Know what you're saying before you say we support child rape. All 94,000 student's hearts go out to the victims and their families.
I am genuinely happy to hear that you found my post “entirely offensive.” That was the point. Victory to me. Yeah, he just told his boss. That is totally good enough. That was the moral thing to do. I am sure that helps you guys sleep better at night.
Also, I am sure most of the 94,000 students hearts do go out to the families, just not those clowns at the “rally.”
Photo evidence: White people sure love them some child sexual abuse. Oh, and that one black guy. Do you think it is the showers or the anal rape that they support the most?
Just as a reminder for those that haven’t read the entire grand jury report:
In one instance in 2002, a graduate assistant on the Penn State football staff says he saw (fmr defensive coordinator Jerry) Sandusky having anal sex with a young boy in the shower. The grad assistant was so distraught he didn’t know what to do. After speaking with his father, he was advised to tell Joe Paterno about it. Paterno reported the incident to athletic director Tim Curley, and Senior VP for business and finance, Gary Schultz. The two men met with the graduate assistant (who also had met with Paterno separately). When they were investigated by the grand jury, Schultz and Curley described the alleged incident as “horsing around” in the shower.
But yeah, totally, let’s save Paterno’s legacy. Fuck those kids and their families. Child rape is awesome, protecting a pedophile, and not reporting it to THE FUCKING POLICE is totally defensible.
