A musician friend told me a great Levon story:
After The Last Waltz show at the Winterland in ‘78, The Band were back stage talking about how great the show went and how amazing the experience had been for everybody. At one point, Robbie looked at everyone and suggested that they get back together. Levon was the first to reply: “Fuck you. We said it was the goddamn Last Waltz! I’m going back to fucking Arkansas!” Levon promptly left the room and building shortly there after.
One of the great ones. He sang and played the drums like a motherfucker. An underrated actor, band leader and songwriter. You will be missed, old man.
